    The design team is looking for a Principal level User Experience designer with both broad and deep knowledge of user-centered design.     Responsibilities:

    • 7+ years of relevant design work experience.
    • Deep knowledge and application of user-centered design approaches and interaction design best practices.
    • An end-user advocate, driving user needs and goals into both creative and pragmatic design solutions.
    • Experience creating interaction prototypes using a range of prototyping and development methods (paper, Photoshop, HTML, Flash, XAML, WPF, etc.).

    Usability Researcher (contract)

    Location:  Seattle area

    DESCRIPITION

    You will be involved with the execution of field research and assisting with qualitative data analysis under the supervision of a User Researcher or Manager.  Your primary focus will be conducting 3 hour field research visits in customers’ homes (1 or 2 per day – scheduled during the work week, evenings, and weekends based on customer availability) which are located within 1.5 hour of the area.  Following the provided protocol, you’ll  be responsible for capturing detailed notes on the customer’s feedback and capturing high quality video and still pictures from the visit.  On the same day of the visit you’ll summarize the data into the format requested, providing summary observations and comments, including capturing feedback from team members who accompany you.  As appropriate you’ll need to discuss these findings with relevant team members.  You’ll also be assisting with compiling survey and other data collected between visits, doing qualitative data analysis, organization and visual presentation of assets from field visits, including data collected by other researchers.  You will also be involved in initial phone screens and interviews to recruit customers to participate in the field visits. 

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    •           Minimum of 2 years related experience in user research and usability testing for software.

    •           Demonstrated experience interacting with customers and collecting data in a field environment.

    •           Ability to perform independent research and summarize data, as well as working as a member of a team.

    •           Excellent communication skills are required; both written and verbal are essential for interactions with both customers and product team.

    •           A passion for user-centered design and the user experience of software, and a thorough knowledge of the process.

    •           Ability to meet deadlines in fast paced environment.

    •           Experience with usability recording/note taking using tools such as OneNote, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, or demonstrated ability to learn new tools quickly.

    Master's Degree in Psychology or Human Factors or a related field is preferred.

     

    REQUIREMENTS

    Must have own car for transportation to offsite visits

    Must have flexible availability, including evenings and weekends

    About this position

    Anthro-Tech is seeking a skilled designer to join our smart and inspired team. We are looking for someone with experience in delivering designs informed by research. You’ll be consulting with business, communications, development and design teams to create highly useful and usable web sites, web & mobile applications, kiosks and other products.

    As a user experience designer, you will be expected to deliver great design work and a high level of attention to several clients. This means cultivating relationships and demonstrating care in holding us to high standards.

    Some of the things you would’ve done last week if you were working with us:

    • Developed a prototype in Axure for usability testing
    • Sketched a variety of design concepts to share and iterate with other team members
    • Worked collaboratively with a client team and other Anthro-Tech consultants to create a customer journey map
    • Provided feedback to a colleague on how to improve the aesthetics of their client presentation

    Usability Researcher (Quantitative)

    For this role the hiring manager is looking for a Quantitative Researcher with a stats background, someone who can work with large end surveys, market surveys and SPSS.  Intermediate-level experience (2-5 years of work experience) with a Master’s or Ph.D. in a related field.

    The team is tasked with building next-generation experiences for new devices and form factors, particularly tablets, phones and the web with the aim of driving innovation. The Research team is seeking an exceptional UX Researcher with a proven track record for creating and conducting a variety of different study methodologies. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone who is excited about making an impact on future apps and web experiences.

    You are passionate about exploring interesting research questions for applications and have an insatiable appetite for conducting research. You will work with Design, Product, and Engineering teams to help them understand current user behaviors and pain points. You will synthesize the key issues and communicate them to the product team and management.     • Experience designing mobile web, and/or on-device mobile applications
    • Visual design expertise demonstrated through mockups and style guides
    • Proven track record presenting to and influencing senior executive management
    • Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs
    • Ability to work gracefully and have a bias for action in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment
    • Ability to drive the design review cycle and close on design requirements independently
    • Familiarity with the technical considerations needed when designing for mobile spaces
    • An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions is a requirement for application

    What You'll Do:


    At Glu, small teams of producers, artists and engineers work together to create exciting free-to-play mobile social games.
    Your responsibilities will include:
    ·   Creating flows, wireframes and other UX documentation for key game features designed by the product team
    ·   Helping the art and engineering teams implement the user experiences you design
    ·   Gathering qualitative and quantitative user feedback to optimize existing UX designs and inform new ones

    What We're Looking For:

    ·   5 years of practical UX design experience
    ·   Experience designing for online consumer services, preferably video games
    ·   Strong skills in crafting fun/effective user flows, wireframes and interactions
    ·   Solid understanding of interaction design fundamentals and best practices
    ·   Strong cross-functional communications skills; verbal, written and visual
    ·   Ability to produce high-quality work quickly, iterating toward the best solutions
    ·   Passion for gaming, especially in the mobile, free-to-play sphere
