Google's Web Optimizer--Why Google built a testing tool

Abstract:
Website Optimizer is a tool that let’s people gather information about individual element of his or her site.  Amongst the user experience challenges the team faced were building a powerful tool for an audience that wants to focus on using data to build a better site—not the process of setting up the tool or plowing through the data.

Bio:

Tom Leung is responsible for the overall product vision and product development strategy for Google Website Optimizer and also works on projects for Google Adwords and Google Analytics.  He has been working in online marketing since 1999 and is co-inventor of a number of patents relating to interactive publishing, web communications, and Internet advertising.

Prior to joining Google, Tom worked at various startups as well as at Microsoft where he led product development and business strategy for Windows Live Hotmail. Tom earned a bachelor's degree from Bowdoin College and a MBA from Harvard University.

The building is on the north side of the ship canal, immediately west of the Fremont Bridge.  Please see the attached map for the location and parking garage.  Google is hosting parking across the street from their building.  The parking garage is on the first floor of the Getty Images building (enter off N.
